Caveat: a punctuation question, not a wording one. The earliest copies are largely unpunctuated, so this is mainly a matter of interpretation.

Editions: RP 2005/2018 and Scrivener's TR (openbible.com/tr94) stop after ὃ γέγονεν, as BSB does. SBLGNT joins it to 1:4.

Manuscripts (IGNTP transcriptions, checked): 𝔓⁷⁵ and D have a point before ὃ γέγονεν; ℵ has one after it (ℵ and D read ἐστιν). 𝔓⁶⁶, A, B, C, L, Θ, Ψ have none here. Uncertain whether 𝔓⁷⁵'s point is first-hand.

For 1:3: (a) ὃ γέγονεν restates χωρὶς αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο οὐδὲ ἕν; the perfect marks the lasting result. (b) John often opens with ἐν + demonstrative (13:35; 15:8; 16:26). (c) Joined to 1:4 the sense is strained, and heterodox readers used it: Ptolemy (Irenaeus, Haer. 1.8.5) and the Valentinians (Exc. 6.4). Chrysostom, Hom. Jo. 5.1, says it was used to make the Spirit a creature.

For 1:4: (a) the staircase (ζωή → ζωή, φῶς → φῶς, σκοτίᾳ → σκοτία). (b) The ante-Nicene citations break before ὃ γέγονεν: Clement, Exc. 6.4 and 19.2; Heracleon and Origen, Comm. Jo. 2.15, 2.13; syr^c (Burkitt 1:423); later Augustine, Tract. Ev. Jo. 1.16. Uncertain Tertullian: his citations (Prax. 16, 21) stop at "nothing made." (c) The UBS committee majority (Metzger, by reference).
