Editorial decision: print the MT without the plus. Open question kept for the notes: whether the LXX plus reflects a Hebrew text rather than an expansion.

Reason (MT kept against the older Greek): MT and Onqelos agree; the plus reads as an explanatory expansion, and no mechanical cause for its loss can be shown from the registered evidence. Confidence medium.

MT (WLC): וַיִּשְׁמַן יְשֻׁרוּן וַיִּבְעָט, with no clause before it. Onqelos: וְעַתַּר יִשְׂרָאֵל וּבְעַט ("and Israel grew rich and kicked"), the same extent.

LXX (Swete, page-checked): opens καὶ ἔφαγεν Ἰακὼβ καὶ ἐνεπλήσθη before καὶ ἀπελάκτισεν ὁ ἠγαπημένος.

External: the plus is in the older Greek only; MT and Onqelos agree. Internal: the plus gives the eating-and-filling step before the fattening, which reads like a natural expansion; the Hebrew behind it can only be conjectured, so whether a scribe could have skipped it by eye cannot be tested here. The LXX's "the beloved" for Jeshurun is translational.
