Rom 10:11, 13: Isa 28:16 again, and Joel 2:32 (MT and LXX 3:5)

Says Rom 10:11, Πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων ἐπʼ αὐτῷ οὐ καταισχυνθήσεται, repeats the Isa 28:16 line Paul quoted at 9:33, now opening with Πᾶς ("everyone"). Neither the MT הַמַּאֲמִין (hamma'amin, "the one who believes") nor Swete's ὁ πιστεύων has "every"; the Hebrew and Greek of Isa 28:16 are compared in note.language.Rom.9.33.isa-28-16-8-14.

Implies The added Πᾶς anticipates Joel's "everyone" in 10:13 and the "no difference between Jew and Greek" of 10:12, since 10:12–13 repeats "all" three times.

Says Rom 10:13 quotes Joel 2:32 (MT and LXX 3:5), וְהָיָה כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה יִמָּלֵט (vehayah kol asher-yiqra' beshem YHWH yimmalet, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved," BSB). Swete, who numbers the verse 2:32, has καὶ ἔσται πᾶς ὃς ἂν ἐπικαλέσηται τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου σωθήσεται; Paul's Πᾶς γὰρ ὃς ἂν ἐπικαλέσηται τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου σωθήσεται is the LXX without "and it shall be," with γὰρ added.

Says In Joel the "Lord" called on is יְהוָה (YHWH), which the LXX renders κύριος, and יִמָּלֵט (yimmalet, Niphal, "will escape, be delivered") is rendered σωθήσεται.

Implies Paul applies this YHWH text to Jesus: the κύριος of 10:13 is the one confessed as κύριον Ἰησοῦν in 10:9 and called ὁ γὰρ αὐτὸς κύριος πάντων in 10:12, with no change of subject between them.
