Rom 3:30 and the Shema (Deut 6:4)

Says Rom 3:29–30 argues that God is God of the Gentiles too, since εἷς ὁ θεός ("God is one"). Deut 6:4 reads שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יְהוָה אֶחָד (shema' yisra'el YHWH eloheynu YHWH ekhad, "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one"). Swete's LXX ends Κύριος εἷς ἐστιν.

The MT writes the ע of the first word and the ד of the last with large letters (OSHB marks both).

Implies Rom 3:30 echoes the Shema. Israel's confession of the one God becomes the ground on which he justifies circumcised and uncircumcised alike by faith (3:29–30; cf. 10:12).
