TTherefore, since God in His mercy has given us this ministry, we do not lose heart. ΔιὰBecause ofPREPτοῦτο,thisD-ASNἔχοντεςhavingV-PAP-NPMτὴν<the>T-ASFδιακονίανministryN-ASFταύτηνthisD-ASFκαθὼςeven asCONJἠλεήθημεν,we received mercy,V-API-1PοὐκnotPRT-Nἐγκακοῦμεν,we lose heart,V-PAI-1P 2Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not practice deceit, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by open proclamation of the truth, we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. ἀλλὰButCONJἀπειπάμεθαwe have renouncedV-2AMI-1PτὰtheT-APNκρυπτὰhidden thingsA-APNτῆς<the>T-GSFαἰσχύνης,of shameN-GSFμὴnotPRT-NπεριπατοῦντεςwalkingV-PAP-NPMἐνinPREPπανουργίᾳcraftinessN-DSFμηδὲnorCONJ-NδολοῦντεςfalsifyingV-PAP-NPMτὸνtheT-ASMλόγονwordN-ASMτοῦ<the>T-GSMθεοῦ,of God,N-GSM-TἀλλὰbutCONJτῇby theT-DSFφανερώσειmanifestationN-DSFτῆςof theT-GSFἀληθείαςtruthN-GSFσυνιστάνοντεςcommendingV-PAP-NPMἑαυτοὺςourselvesF-1APMπρὸςtoPREPπᾶσανeveryA-ASFσυνείδησινconscienceN-ASFἀνθρώπωνof menN-GPMἐνώπιονbeforePREPτοῦ<the>T-GSMθεοῦ.God.N-GSM-T 3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. εἰIfCONDδὲhoweverCONJκαὶevenCONJἔστινisV-PAI-3SκεκαλυμμένονconcealedV-RPP-NSNτὸtheT-NSNεὐαγγέλιονgospelN-NSNἡμῶν,of us,P-1GPἐνtoPREPτοῖςthoseT-DPMἀπολλυμένοιςperishingV-PEP-DPMἐστὶνit isV-PAI-3Sκεκαλυμμένον,concealed;V-RPP-NSN 4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. ἐνinPREPοἷςwhomR-DPMὁtheT-NSMθεὸςgodN-NSMτοῦof theT-GSMαἰῶνοςageN-GSMτούτουthisD-GSMἐτύφλωσενhas blindedV-AAI-3SτὰtheT-APNνοήματαmindsN-APNτῶνof theT-GPMἀπίστωνunbelievingA-GPMεἰςso as forPREPτὸ<the>T-ASNμὴnotPRT-Nαὐγάσαιto beam forthV-AANτὸνtheT-ASMφωτισμὸνilluminationN-ASMτοῦof theT-GSNεὐαγγελίουgospelN-GSNτῆςof theT-GSFδόξηςgloryN-GSFτοῦ<the>T-GSMΧριστοῦ,of Christ,N-GSM-TὅςwhoR-NSMἐστινisV-PAI-3Sεἰκὼν[the] imageN-NSFτοῦ<the>T-GSMθεοῦ.of God.N-GSM-T 5For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. οὐNotPRT-NγὰρforCONJἑαυτοὺςourselvesF-1APMκηρύσσομενdo we proclaimV-PAI-1PἀλλὰbutCONJΧριστὸνChristN-ASM-TἸησοῦνJesusN-ASM-Pκύριον,Lord,N-ASM-TἑαυτοὺςourselvesF-1APMδὲnowCONJδούλουςservantsN-APMὑμῶνof youP-2GPδιὰfor the sake ofPREPἸησοῦν.Jesus.N-ASM-P 6For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ὁ εἰπών· Ἐκ σκότους φῶς λάμψει, ὃς ἔλαμψεν ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ἡμῶν πρὸς φωτισμὸν τῆς γνώσεως τῆς δόξης τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν προσώπῳ Χριστοῦ. ὅτιFor [it is]CONJὁ<the>T-NSMθεὸςGodN-NSM-Tὁ<the>T-NSMεἰπών·having saidV-2AAP-NSMἘκOut ofPREPσκότουςdarknessN-GSNφῶςlightN-NSNλάμψει,will shine,V-FAI-3SὃςwhoR-NSMἔλαμψενshoneV-AAI-3SἐνinPREPταῖςtheT-DPFκαρδίαιςheartsN-DPFἡμῶνof usP-1GPπρὸςfor [the]PREPφωτισμὸνradianceN-ASMτῆςof theT-GSFγνώσεωςknowledgeN-GSFτῆςof theT-GSFδόξηςgloryN-GSFτοῦ<the>T-GSMθεοῦof GodN-GSM-TἐνinPREPπροσώπῳ[the] faceN-DSNΧριστοῦ.Christ.N-GSM-T 7Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us. ἜχομενWe haveV-PAI-1PδὲnowCONJτὸν<the>T-ASMθησαυρὸνtreasureN-ASMτοῦτονthisD-ASMἐνinPREPὀστρακίνοιςearthenA-DPNσκεύεσιν,vessels,N-DPNἵναthatCONJἡtheT-NSFὑπερβολὴsurpassingnessN-NSFτῆςof theT-GSFδυνάμεωςpowerN-GSFᾖmay beV-PAS-3Sτοῦ<the>T-GSMθεοῦfrom GodN-GSM-TκαὶandCONJμὴnotPRT-NἐξfromPREPἡμῶν·us,P-1GP 8We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; ἐνinPREPπαντὶevery [way]A-DSNθλιβόμενοιbeing hard pressedV-PPP-NPMἀλλ’butCONJοὐnotPRT-Nστενοχωρούμενοι,being crushed,V-PPP-NPMἀπορούμενοιbeing perplexedV-PMP-NPMἀλλ’butCONJοὐκnotPRT-Nἐξαπορούμενοι,despairing,V-PNP-NPM 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. διωκόμενοιbeing persecutedV-PPP-NPMἀλλ’butCONJοὐκnotPRT-Nἐγκαταλειπόμενοι,being forsaken,V-PPP-NPMκαταβαλλόμενοιbeing struck downV-PEP-NPMἀλλ’butCONJοὐκnotPRT-Nἀπολλύμενοι,being destroyed;V-PEP-NPM 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. πάντοτεalwaysADVτὴνtheT-ASFνέκρωσινdeathN-ASFτοῦof theT-GSMἸησοῦJesusN-GSM-PἐνinPREPτῷ<the>T-DSNσώματι[our] bodyN-DSNπεριφέροντες,carrying around,V-PAP-NPMἵναso thatCONJκαὶalsoCONJἡtheT-NSFζωὴlifeN-NSFτοῦ<the>T-GSMἸησοῦof JesusN-GSM-PἐνinPREPτῷtheT-DSNσώματιbodyN-DSNἡμῶνof usP-1GPφανερωθῇ·may be manifested;V-APS-3S 11For we who are alive are always consigned to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal body. ἀεὶalwaysADVγὰρforCONJἡμεῖςwe ourselvesP-1NPοἱtheT-NPMζῶντεςlivingV-PAP-NPMεἰςtoPREPθάνατονdeathN-ASMπαραδιδόμεθαare being deliveredV-PPI-1Pδιὰon account ofPREPἸησοῦν,Jesus,N-ASM-Pἵναso thatCONJκαὶalsoCONJἡtheT-NSFζωὴlifeN-NSFτοῦ<the>T-GSMἸησοῦof JesusN-GSM-Pφανερωθῇmay be manifestedV-APS-3SἐνinPREPτῇtheT-DSFθνητῇmortalA-DSFσαρκὶfleshN-DSFἡμῶν.of us.P-1GP 12So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you. ὥστεSo thenCONJὁ<the>T-NSMθάνατοςdeathN-NSMἐνinPREPἡμῖνusP-1DPἐνεργεῖται,works,V-PMI-3Sἡ<the>T-NSFδὲhoweverCONJζωὴlifeN-NSFἐνinPREPὑμῖν.you.P-2DP 13And in keeping with what is written, “I believed, therefore I have spoken,” we who have the same spirit of faith also believe and therefore speak, ἜχοντεςHavingV-PAP-NPMδὲhoweverCONJτὸtheT-ASNαὐτὸsameP-ASNπνεῦμαspiritN-ASNτῆς<the>T-GSFπίστεως,of faithN-GSFκατὰaccording toPREPτὸthatT-ASNγεγραμμένον·written:V-RPP-ASNἘπίστευσα,I believed,V-AAI-1SδιὸthereforeCONJἐλάλησα,I have spoken,V-AAI-1SκαὶalsoCONJἡμεῖςwe ourselvesP-1NPπιστεύομεν,believe,V-PAI-1PδιὸthereforeCONJκαὶalsoCONJλαλοῦμεν,speak;V-PAI-1P 14knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence. εἰδότεςknowingV-RAP-NPMὅτιthatCONJὁthe [One]T-NSMἐγείραςhaving raised upV-AAP-NSMτὸνtheT-ASMἸησοῦνJesusN-ASM-PκαὶalsoCONJἡμᾶςusP-1APσὺνwithPREPἸησοῦJesusN-DSM-PἐγερεῖHe will raise upV-FAI-3SκαὶandCONJπαραστήσειHe will present [us]V-FAI-3SσὺνwithPREPὑμῖν.you.P-2DP 15All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is extending to more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow, to the glory of God. τὰ<the>T-NPNγὰρForCONJπάνταall things [are]A-NPNδι’for the sake ofPREPὑμᾶς,you,P-2APἵναso thatCONJἡtheT-NSFχάριςgraceN-NSFπλεονάσασαhaving aboundedV-AAP-NSFδιὰthroughPREPτῶν<the>T-GPMπλειόνωνmore and moreA-GPM-CτὴνtheT-ASFεὐχαριστίανthanksgivingN-ASFπερισσεύσῃmay increaseV-AAS-3SεἰςtoPREPτὴνtheT-ASFδόξανgloryN-ASFτοῦ<the>T-GSMθεοῦ.of God.N-GSM-T 16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. ΔιὸThereforeCONJοὐκnotPRT-Nἐγκακοῦμεν,we lose heart;V-PAI-1Pἀλλ’butCONJεἰifCONDκαὶevenCONJὁtheT-NSMἔξωoutwardPREPἡμῶνof usP-1GPἄνθρωποςmanN-NSMδιαφθείρεται,is being brought to decay,V-PPI-3Sἀλλ’yetCONJὁtheT-NSMἔσωinnerADVἡμῶνof usP-1GPἀνακαινοῦταιis being renewedV-PPI-3Sἡμέρᾳby dayN-DSFκαὶandCONJἡμέρᾳ.by day.N-DSF 17For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory that is far beyond comparison. τὸTheT-NSNγὰρforCONJπαραυτίκαmomentaryADVἐλαφρὸνlightnessA-NSNτῆςtheT-GSFθλίψεωςafflictionN-GSFἡμῶνof usP-1GPκαθ’farPREPὑπερβολὴνsurpassingN-ASFεἰςtoPREPὑπερβολὴνexcessivenessN-ASFαἰώνιονan eternalA-ASNβάροςweightN-ASNδόξηςof gloryN-GSFκατεργάζεταιis producingV-PNI-3Sἡμῖν,for us,P-1DP 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. μὴnotPRT-Nσκοπούντωνare looking atV-PAP-GPMἡμῶνweP-1GPτὰthe [things]T-APNβλεπόμεναbeing seenV-PPP-APNἀλλὰbutCONJτὰthe [things]T-APNμὴnotPRT-Nβλεπόμενα,being seen;V-PPP-APNτὰThe [things]T-NPNγὰρforCONJβλεπόμεναbeing seen [are]V-PPP-NPNπρόσκαιρα,temporary,A-NPNτὰthe [things]T-NPNδὲhoweverCONJμὴnotPRT-Nβλεπόμεναbeing seenV-PPP-NPNαἰώνια.[are] eternal.A-NPN
