Ps 8

FFor the choirmaster. According to Gittith. A Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. (MT 8:2; LXX 8:2; Rahlfs 8:2) לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ עַֽל־הַגִּתִּ֗ית מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִֽד׃ 2From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger. (MT 8:3; LXX 8:3; Rahlfs 8:3) יְהוָ֤ה אֲדֹנֵ֗ינוּ מָֽה־אַדִּ֣יר שִׁ֭מְךָ בְּכָל־הָאָ֑רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּנָ֥ה ה֝וֹדְךָ֗ עַל־הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ 3When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place— (MT 8:4; LXX 8:4; Rahlfs 8:4) מִפִּ֤י עֽוֹלְלִ֨ים ׀ וְֽיֹנְקִים֮ יִסַּ֪דְתָּ֫ עֹ֥ז לְמַ֥עַן צוֹרְרֶ֑יךָ לְהַשְׁבִּ֥ית א֝וֹיֵ֗ב וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃ 4what is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him? (MT 8:5; LXX 8:5; Rahlfs 8:5) כִּֽי־אֶרְאֶ֣ה שָׁ֭מֶיךָ מַעֲשֵׂ֣י אֶצְבְּעֹתֶ֑יךָ יָרֵ֥חַ וְ֝כוֹכָבִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר כּוֹנָֽנְתָּה׃ 5You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor. (MT 8:6; LXX 8:6; Rahlfs 8:6) מָֽה־אֱנ֥וֹשׁ כִּֽי־תִזְכְּרֶ֑נּוּ וּבֶן־אָ֝דָ֗ם כִּ֣י תִפְקְדֶֽנּוּ׃ 6You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything under his feet: (MT 8:7; LXX 8:7; Rahlfs 8:7) וַתְּחַסְּרֵ֣הוּ מְּ֭עַט מֵאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְכָב֖וֹד וְהָדָ֣ר תְּעַטְּרֵֽהוּ׃ 7all sheep and oxen, and even the beasts of the field, (MT 8:8; LXX 8:8; Rahlfs 8:8) תַּ֭מְשִׁילֵהוּ בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣י יָדֶ֑יךָ כֹּ֝ל שַׁ֣תָּה תַֽחַת־רַגְלָֽיו׃ 8the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. (MT 8:9; LXX 8:9; Rahlfs 8:9) צֹנֶ֣ה וַאֲלָפִ֣ים כֻּלָּ֑ם וְ֝גַ֗ם בַּהֲמ֥וֹת שָׂדָֽי׃ 9O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! (MT 8:10; LXX 8:10; Rahlfs 8:10) צִפּ֣וֹר שָׁ֭מַיִם וּדְגֵ֣י הַיָּ֑ם עֹ֝בֵ֗ר אָרְח֥וֹת יַמִּֽים׃
