λειτουργός leitourgos
public servant · minister
Team definition
A noun for someone who discharges a public office, in classical use sometimes at his own expense, and then more generally a public servant or minister. It is used of priestly or sanctuary service and of servants of God. Rom 13:6 uses the plural of God's public servants. The word highlights service to a community or office rather than private attendance. The entry does not decide the nature of that office.
