Print SBLGNT's δέ with low confidence; Tischendorf 8 prints it too. B and the Western witnesses join the Byzantine text for γάρ, against ℵ A, and internal evidence is balanced, so the base text is kept. The sense hardly changes (see note.language.Rom.3.7-Rom.3.8.syntax).

Minuscules are Gregory–Aland numbers, with Tischendorf's Pauline number once in parentheses ("Tisch."); * = first hand, superscript ᶜ (stored as c, e.g. Dc) = a later corrector (Tischendorf's notation); full key in src.tischendorf-8. Minuscules whose Gregory–Aland number is not verified are summarized, not listed. Tischendorf names mainly dissenting witnesses, so some majuscules on the other side are inferred from his silence.

SBLGNT, WH, NA28, and Tischendorf 8 (p. 375) read δέ; Treg, RP2018, and TR read γάρ. The siglum Ti in Tischendorf's apparatus for γάρ refers to his earlier edition, not to the text of ed. 8.

Internal: εἰ δέ repeats the opening of 3:5 and presents 3:7 as a second form of the objection. εἰ γάρ ties 3:7 to 3:6 as its explanation. Either change is easy.
