I hated. V-AAI-1S 14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Certainly not!Τί What I-ASN οὖν then CONJ ἐροῦμεν; will we say? V-FAI-1P μὴ Not PRT-N ἀδικία injustice N-NSF παρὰ with PREP τῷ <the> T-DSM θεῷ; God [is there]? N-DSM-T μὴ Never PRT-N γένοιτο· would it be! V-2ADO-3S 15 For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”τῷ <the> T-DSM Μωϋσεῖ To Moses N-DSM-P γὰρ for CONJ λέγει· He says: V-PAI-3S Ἐλεήσω I will show mercy to V-FAI-1S ὃν whom R-ASM ἂν maybe PRT ἐλεῶ, I may show mercy V-PAS-1S καὶ and CONJ οἰκτιρήσω I will have compassion on V-FAI-1S ὃν whom R-ASM ἂν maybe PRT οἰκτίρω. I may have compassion. He hardens. V-PAI-3S 19 One of you will say to me, “Then why does God still find fault? For who can resist His will?”Ἐρεῖς You will say V-FAI-2S μοι to me P-1DS οὖν· then: CONJ Τί Why I-ASN οὖν then CONJ ἔτι still ADV μέμφεται; does He find fault? V-PNI-3S τῷ The T-DSN γὰρ for CONJ βουλήματι purpose N-DSN αὐτοῦ of Him P-GSM τίς who I-NSM ἀνθέστηκεν; has been resisting? V-RAI-3S 20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it, “Why did You make me like this?”ὦ O INJ ἄνθρωπε, man, N-VSM μενοῦνγε but rather, PRT σὺ you yourself P-2NS τίς who I-NSM εἶ are V-PAI-2S ὁ who T-NSM ἀνταποκρινόμενος is answering against V-PNP-NSM τῷ <the> T-DSM θεῷ; to God? N-ASF 24 including us, whom He has called not only from the Jews, but also from the Gentiles?οὓς whom R-APM καὶ even CONJ ἐκάλεσεν He has called V-AAI-3S ἡμᾶς us P-1AP οὐ not PRT-N μόνον only A-ASN ἐξ out from PREP Ἰουδαίων [the] Jews N-GPM-PG ἀλλὰ but CONJ καὶ also CONJ ἐξ out from PREP ἐθνῶν;— [the] Gentiles, N-GPN 25 As He says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘My People’ who are not My people, and I will call her ‘My Beloved’ who is not My beloved,”ὡς As PRT καὶ also CONJ ἐν in PREP τῷ <the> T-DSM Ὡσηὲ Hosea N-DSM-P λέγει· He says: V-PAI-3S Καλέσω I will call V-FAI-1S τὸν that which [is] T-ASM οὐ not PRT-N λαόν people N-ASM μου of Mine P-1GS λαόν people N-ASM μου of Mine P-1GS καὶ and CONJ τὴν her who T-ASF οὐκ not PRT-N ἠγαπημένην loved V-RPP-ASF ἠγαπημένην· loved. V-RPP-ASF 26 and, “It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”καὶ and CONJ ἔσται It will happen that V-FDI-3S ἐν in PREP τῷ the T-DSM τόπῳ place N-DSM οὗ where ADV ἐρρέθη it was said V-API-3S αὐτοῖς· to them; P-DPM Οὐ Not PRT-N λαός people N-NSM μου of Mine [are] P-1GS ὑμεῖς, You yourselves, P-2NP ἐκεῖ there ADV κληθήσονται they will be called V-FPI-3P υἱοὶ sons N-NPM θεοῦ of God N-GSM-T ζῶντος. V-PAP-GSM 27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites is like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved.Ἠσαΐας Isaiah N-NSM-P δὲ also CONJ κράζει cries out V-PAI-3S ὑπὲρ concerning PREP τοῦ <the> T-GSM Ἰσραήλ· Israel: N-GSM-L Ἐὰν Though COND ᾖ shall be V-PAS-3S ὁ the T-NSM ἀριθμὸς number N-NSM τῶν of the T-GPM υἱῶν sons N-GPM Ἰσραὴλ of Israel N-GSM-L ὡς as PRT ἡ the T-NSF ἄμμος sand N-NSF τῆς of the T-GSF θαλάσσης, sea, N-GSF τὸ [only] the T-NSN ὑπόλειμμα vestige N-NSN σωθήσεται· will be saved; V-FPI-3S 28 For the Lord will carry out His sentence on the earth thoroughly and decisively.”λόγον [The] sentence N-ASM γὰρ for CONJ συντελῶν concluding V-PAP-NSM καὶ and CONJ συντέμνων bringing swiftly V-PAP-NSM ποιήσει will perform [the] V-FAI-3S κύριος Lord N-NSM-T ἐπὶ upon PREP τῆς the T-GSF γῆς. earth. N-GSF 29 It is just as Isaiah foretold: “Unless the Lord of Hosts had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have resembled Gomorrah.”καὶ And CONJ καθὼς even as CONJ προείρηκεν has foretold V-RAI-3S Ἠσαΐας· Isaiah: N-NSM-P Εἰ only COND μὴ unless PRT-N κύριος [the] Lord N-NSM-T Σαβαὼθ of Hosts N-GPM-T ἐγκατέλιπεν had left V-2AAI-3S ἡμῖν us P-1DP σπέρμα, descendants, N-ASN ὡς like PRT Σόδομα Sodom N-NPN-L ἂν then PRT ἐγενήθημεν we should have become V-2AOI-1P καὶ and CONJ ὡς like PRT Γόμορρα Gomorrah N-NSF-L ἂν then would PRT ὡμοιώθημεν. we have been made. V-API-1P 30 What then will we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;Τί What I-ASN οὖν then CONJ ἐροῦμεν; will we say? V-FAI-1P ὅτι That CONJ ἔθνη Gentiles N-NPN τὰ <the> T-NPN μὴ not PRT-N διώκοντα pursuing V-PAP-NPN δικαιοσύνην righteousness N-ASF κατέλαβεν have grasped V-2AAI-3S δικαιοσύνην, righteousness, N-ASF δικαιοσύνην righteousness N-ASF δὲ now CONJ τὴν that [is] T-ASF ἐκ by PREP πίστεως· faith; N-GSF 31 but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it.Ἰσραὴλ Israel N-NSM-L δὲ however CONJ διώκων pursuing V-PAP-NSM νόμον a law N-ASM δικαιοσύνης of righteousness N-GSF εἰς to PREP νόμον [that] law N-ASM οὐκ not PRT-N ἔφθασεν. did attain. V-AAI-3S 32 Why not? Because their pursuit was not by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,διὰ Because of PREP τί; why? I-ASN ὅτι Because [it was] CONJ οὐκ not PRT-N ἐκ by PREP πίστεως faith N-GSF ἀλλ’ but CONJ ὡς as PRT ἐξ by PREP ἔργων· works N-GPN προσέκοψαν They stumbled V-AAI-3P τῷ over the T-DSM λίθῳ stone N-DSM τοῦ <the> T-GSN προσκόμματος, of stumbling N-GSN 33 as it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; and the one who believes in Him will never be put to shame.”καθὼς even as CONJ γέγραπται· it has been written: V-RPI-3S Ἰδοὺ Behold INJ τίθημι I lay V-PAI-1S ἐν in PREP Σιὼν Zion N-DSF-L λίθον a stone N-ASM προσκόμματος of stumbling N-GSN καὶ and CONJ πέτραν a rock N-ASF σκανδάλου, of offense, N-GSN καὶ and CONJ ὁ who T-NSM πιστεύων is believing V-PAP-NSM ἐπ’ on PREP αὐτῷ Him P-DSM οὐ never PRT-N καταισχυνθήσεται. will be put to shame.
