καθίστημι kathistēmi
appoint · make · constitute
Team definition
To set down; to set in order, appoint, make, constitute (Abbott-Smith), often with a double accusative (Luke 12:14; Acts 7:10). In Rom 5:19b "will be made righteous" is forensic, constituted righteous by Christ's obedience counted to them; in 5:19a "were made sinners" is uncertain, the lean being forensic (Adam's disobedience counted to all), with realist and mediate readings as alternatives. See note.language.Rom.5.15-Rom.5.19.dikaioma-kathistemi.
