The longer text adds "in righteousness" and repeats the thought; the shorter is a compact statement of the Lord's decisive act (BSB "thoroughly and decisively"). Manuscripts (Tischendorf 8, vol. 2 (1872), p. 415, leaf n422–p. 416, leaf n423): as listed in the readings; the first also has two more minuscules, the second most others. Eusebius is cited on both sides (one manuscript of his omits ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ).

Internal: the longer text matches the LXX of Isa 10:22–23 (Swete, vol. 3, p. 120, checked on the scan: λόγον συντελῶν καὶ συντέμνων ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ, ὅτι λόγον συντετμημένον ποιήσει Κύριος; his apparatus gives γάρ after the first λόγον and ὁ θεός for Κύριος in ℵ A Q Γ); copyists filled out a quotation from the LXX more easily than they cut it, and the eye could also skip from one λόγον to the next.
