Editorial decision: print ἐν τοῖς with low confidence: B D* F G support it, but ℵ A C and most others lack it. The text follows SBLGNT because the shorter reading can be explained as conformed to the parallel bare dative, though ἐν could also have been added for clarity. Says On either reading God was found by those who did not seek him.

Sigla: corrector notation as in Tischendorf (ℵc, Db,c and the like). Minuscules are Gregory–Aland numbers, with Tischendorf's Pauline number once in parentheses; those not verified are counted, not listed. Witnesses are listed only where Tischendorf names them.

SBLGNT, NA28, and Treg read ἐν τοῖς; WH, RP2018, TR, and Tischendorf 8 read τοῖς. Treg also adds ἐν after ἐγενόμην, with B D* (box line).

Manuscripts (Tischendorf 8, vol. 2 (1872), p. 421, leaf n433 of novumtestamentu02abbogoog, a second scan of the same printing (the pinned scan lacks p. 421)): as listed in the readings; the second also has apparently all other manuscripts. Tischendorf notes that d e, Hilary, and Ambrosiaster reverse the two verbs.

Internal: the parallel clause τοῖς ἐμὲ μὴ ἐπερωτῶσιν has the bare dative; ἐν may have been added to make "found among" plain, or dropped to match that clause and the Isaiah wording (see the Hebrew notes).
