Editorial decision: print ὅτι before τὴν δικαιοσύνην with medium confidence: ℵ* A D* and the Vulgate, and the likelihood that the other order was conformed to the wording of Lev 18:5, against B and most other witnesses. Says Either way Moses is cited for the life promised to the one who does the law.

Sigla: corrector notation as in Tischendorf (ℵc, Db,c and the like). Minuscules are Gregory–Aland numbers, with Tischendorf's Pauline number once in parentheses; those not verified are counted, not listed. Witnesses are listed only where Tischendorf names them.

SBLGNT, WH, and Tischendorf 8 put ὅτι before τὴν δικαιοσύνην; NA28, Treg, RP2018, and TR put it after νόμου. Both readings are given with τοῦ as SBLGNT, NA28, RP2018, and TR print it; WH, Treg, and Tischendorf 8 lack τοῦ (box line).

Manuscripts (Tischendorf 8, vol. 2 (1872), p. 418, leaf n425 (novumtestamentum02tisc)): as listed in the readings; the first also has two minuscules, the second most others. Tischendorf notes that B and D mix this order with the αὐτῇ/αὐτοῖς reading (var.Rom.10.5.aute-autois).

Internal: with ὅτι first, "the righteousness from the law" is the object of the quoted saying; with ὅτι later, it is the topic and ὅτι introduces the quotation, which goes with the αὐτά … αὐτοῖς reading (var.Rom.10.5.aute-autois) and the plural of Lev 18:5 (see the Hebrew notes).
